Mary Jane Van Remortel was one of our school secretaries and the proud mother of the Van Remortel boys. I do not know how she came to possess these slides, but I imagine they were lying around when the school was shutting down, and she grabbed them to rescue them from the trash. Her son, Andy, sent them to me and I scanned them in over a couple months in 2012.
They are not in any particular order, but vaguely grouped by topic, which I noted in the title. My guess is that they were taken for use in the Argos yearbooks over the years and ended up in the school office. Mary Jane did not take these pictures, but I am calling them the Van Remortel Slides because she was the one who saved them.
These are google photo albums. If you click on the (i) in the upper right while you are looking, it will show the caption I wrote. I tried to identify things I recognized, but I also got comments and e-mails when I first published them, so I tried to include that too.

A huge thanks to Mrs. Van Remortel for capturing this glimpse of 70s and 80s life at Abbot Pennings, for Andy for getting it to me, but especially to Mary Jane and Kay, the office secretaries, who kept a school full of crazy Squires up and running!
